Police have opened an investigation into an armed robbery at Paradise Bar, Cane Garden Bay on Sunday night where shots were fired.
At least three shots were fired but no one was injured in the reported incident, police said.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said three masked men entered the establishment around 11pm and ‘demanded money’. They made off with an unspecified amount of cash believed to be Paradise Bar’s business proceeds.
Local law enforcers are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating the assailants and their guns.
This latest incident comes days after a shooting incident Baugher’s Bay and on Virgin Gorda. A man was injured in both those incidents. These victims are now nursing gunshot wounds at Peebles hospital.
Acting Commissioner of Police Alwin James said he hopes this seeming resurgence of gun crime does not mar the upcoming emancipation festivities.
“Please assist us with any information that can help in identifying the perpetrators in these incidents,” he urged in a public message Monday afternoon, July 23.
Persons with information can contact the RVIPF through its three-digit access number ‘311’ or contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
