BVI News has not been able to ascertain the exact amount of weed found in the man’s possession but reports say he had more than 400 grams.

It’s believed that the police found the drug after executing a search warrant. The illegal substance was said to be stashed in a storage area on the motorized scooter the accused owns.

It is unclear whether he has been offered bail and when he will appear in court to answer to the charges.

Legalize what was ordained by Nature. Go after the white powder that many are using and eventually destroying Lives. It’s beyond that time for BVI to get onboard the decentralization of marijuana. How do they know it wasn’t for personal use? How can they prove it was intended to be distributed or sold. Time to clean up the blue yard before hassling the Citizens.

Thanks for posting that link to that significant development on our neighboring sister island. This is the direction the BVI needs to go.

No one should be going to jail for simple marijuana possession, and those convicted of such should eventually have their records expunged.

I suspect that had it not been for the intelligence probably known by former Governor Augustus Jaspert about the former Premiers’ alleged illicit drug dealings and that of others in “the highest places of government” he would have given assent to the Cannabis Licensing Act at that time, and the country would have been further along modifying it’s marijuana laws.

Despite what has unfolded, I believe strongly that current marijuana laws needs to amended and upgraded to suit the time and science of today.

The government could be deriving much needed revenues from marijuana law liberalization via taxation…. money that if properly used can benefit the country.

Rather, what we have here is the use of scarce law enforcement resources going after people with small amount of a drug that more and more countries are legalizing in some manner.

It’s time to amend the marijuana laws in the BVI, and I say this a person who has never use the drug or have any intent on doing so going forward. Amending the laws just makes sense to me.

That is the British Virgin Islands. Same sex marriage suits the agenda perfectly. The government is financed by international money laundering while they stifle citizens rights.

Good idea, one major problem with that is the large number of legal professionals who enjoy ‘powdering their noses’. Some of our medical pro’s so it too, and no doubt some of the law enforcement. But they will have bad words to say about the herb.
