Accused serial burglar nabbed
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has announced the capture of Vincentian national Paul Jack, who is accused of committing a series of crimes ranging from immigration offences to larceny-related activities.
According to the RVIPF, Jack, who had previously been deported from the territory following a 2021 conviction for Proceeds of Criminal Conduct, illegally re-entered the British Virgin Islands and had been hiding in Virgin Gorda.
Jack has been linked to numerous burglaries, robberies, and other criminal activities on Virgin Gorda over the past year, causing significant disruption and fear in the community.
He now faces charges for Illegal Entry, Criminal Trespass, Armed with an Offensive Weapon, Assault on Police, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Burglary. Investigations into his involvement in additional burglaries and robberies are ongoing.
The RVIPF also announced the arrest of an accomplice, Devonte Joseph, who has been charged with Robbery, two counts of Burglary, and Aggravated Burglary. Both men were apprehended during a joint operation led by Virgin Gorda detectives on Saturday, January 4.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool expressed relief at Jack’s capture, emphasizing the significance of the arrests for the safety of Virgin Gorda residents.
“The arrest of Paul Jack is a major breakthrough in ensuring the safety and security of Virgin Gorda residents and visitors. His actions have caused distress in the community, and we are committed to bringing him and others involved in these crimes to justice. The RVIPF remains resolute in our efforts to make the British Virgin Islands a safer place for all,” Vanterpool stated.
The police have not disclosed how Jack managed to return to the territory after his deportation. However, this arrest has reignited concerns about the BVI’s porous borders, with calls for stronger measures to prevent illegal entry.
Jack’s capture marks a critical step in addressing ongoing security challenges and restoring peace to Virgin Gorda, a community that has been heavily impacted by the recent wave of criminal activity.

To whom or what do we owe the photo of this identified charge arrested and booked repeated illegal immigrant terrorizing burglar whose home country St Vincent?
Thanks for the photo. Grateful for small favors in this land of “hide the criminal and his/ her identity”.
I guess they can post his picture cause he not from here. some time back recently one didn’t fire some rounds in the air at their girlfriend yard and police was looking for them? up to now no picture. so my question is what determines if an offender’s picture gets posted or not?
Since it is an obvious fact that at least 99.9% of the criminal varmints on our shorescare directly or indirectly expelled from the Caribbean Islands of all and everything reputable and repulsive here, there and everywhere. Tis dem or children of dem. Therefore tis dem whose faces and mentioned identities are conveniently and routinely excluded from the public eyesight. A crime in and of
itself.
So only 0.01% of vermin are locals? Thanks for the stats.
Big dawg got some stats there you would swear bvislanders dont break the law like that.
I should have caught you in my house.
Our borders are so porous it’s beyond. This man was living amongst us driving like a legal for so long. Ask his associates
