Akeem Sebastian – the taxi operator charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor last year – is back before the court for allegedly having sex with another 14-year-old girl while on bail this year.

Magistrate Giselle Jackman-Lumy revoked the 33-year-old man’s bail when he appeared before her Wednesday on multiple new counts of having sex with a person under the age of 16.

Sebastian allegedly had sex with the second underaged girl at least four times during the months of June, July and August before being caught in the act by the child’s mother.

The incidences allegedly occurred at his family’s Brandywine Bay home and at the Road Town festival grounds during emancipation celebrations.

Allegations

The court heard that Sebastian and the minor reportedly met in Road Town where they exchanged phone numbers. The two reportedly began communicating in June when Sebastian allegedly asked her to ‘keep quiet’ about their interactions.

The court was told that the two then became sexually involved, which the Prosecution said was evidenced in their WhatsApp conversations that was reportedly laced with ‘suggestive language’ about their alleged sexual engagements.

The court heard that the defendant, who owns two taxi buses, would use his adult girlfriend’s personal vehicle to pick up the 14-year-old girl at school.

The pair would then head to Sebastian’s home which he shared with his mother, his two children, his 11-year-old stepchild and their mother.

The court heard that the two would have unprotected sex before Sebastian returned the minor to the school compound.

This ‘arrangement’ allegedly happened on three different occasions.

Sex during festival

It is alleged that their fourth alleged sexual rendezvous happened on August Tuesday during the village entertainment segment of festival that evening. The minor’s mother allegedly caught the two having sex by a trailer in a secluded area at the festival village.

The court was told that the youngster was able to slip away to find Sebastian after seeking her mother’s permission to ‘get something to drink’.

The minor’s younger sibling, who had accompanied the teen, subsequently alerted their mother.

An altercation reportedly ensued between the mother and Sebastian after the discovery.

He was then arrested on August 17, the court heard.

Meanwhile, the accused taximan was not made to plead because the offences for which he is charged are indictable matters. That effectively means that it is triable at the High Court before a judge and jury. Defence attorney David Penn is representing the accused.

Sebastian is scheduled to return to court on October 10.
