Alleged gunman racks up 5 charges in connection to weekend shooting
A Fat Hog’s Bay resident is now facing nearly half-a-dozen criminal charges in connection to last weekend’s bar shooting that left at least one man injured.
Police have identified the suspected gunman as 28-year-old Dijon Hodge.
He has been charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, resisting arrest, and assault on police.
A media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Tuesday said Hodge will remain in custody pending his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court.
In the meantime, police said the incident happened around 11 pm at Bouncer’s Bar in Paraquita Bay, Tortola on Friday, January 3.
“Upon arrival [at the scene], officers of the RVIPF learned that one person was injured in this incident and was transported to Dr Orlando Smith hospital by private vehicle where he underwent treatment for his injuries,” the RVIPF said.
The name of the injured man has not been released.
