Arrest Blotter: Child cruelty, sexual assault among latest police busts
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said several arrests took place between August 11 to August 22.
The accused persons were implicated for a number of reported charges ranging from being armed with an offensive weapon, burglary, cruelty to a child, sexual assault among other things.
In its latest arrest blotter, the RVIPF listed those persons and their charges as follows:
Armed with an offensive weapon
On August 17 police arrested and charged Vern Olando Wharton of Old Plantation for being armed with an offensive weapon, indecent language and resisting arrest. Wharton was granted bail and is scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on September 28.
Burglary
On August 14 police arrested and charged Michael Ashby of Main Street for burglary. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on August 15 and is currently on remand.
Criminal damage
On August 20 police arrested and charged Kelly Williams of the Valley, Virgin Gorda for criminal damage. He was granted bail and is scheduled to appear before the magistrate’s court on October 12. Cruelty to child On August 14 police arrested and charged Craig Lloyd of Spooners Estate for cruelty, unlawful and malicious wounding on a child.
He is slated to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on September 28. Drug offences On August 21, police arrested and charged Tramore Frazer of Parham Town for unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply, disorderly conduct and assault on police. He appeared at the Magistrate’s Court on August 23 where he plead not guilty on all charges.
On August 21 police arrested and charged Mitchel Brewley of Free Bottom for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was granted bail is scheduled to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on September 28.
Sexual offences
On August 16 police arrested and charged an adult male of Little Pond in The Valley, Virgin Gorda for unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16. He is slated to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on October 5.
On August 17 police arrested and charged another adult male residing at Brandy Wine Bay for five counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on August 21 and is currently on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison.
Theft
On August 22 police arrested and charged Damien Farrell of Long Look for theft. He was granted bail and will appear at the Magistrate’s Court on October 12.
Indecent language
On August 22 police arrested and charged Vanneto Thomas of Long Look for using indecent language and obstructing traffic. Thomas was granted bail and is to appear at the Magistrates Court on October 12.

These men are really something else. What kind of feelings a grown man can get for a little child? And how can any sensible woman can know of these things and still have the children in the home? What a shame.
