BVI shows off fintech services in Canada
BVI Finance recently concluded a landmark week of activity and impact at Canada Crypto Week 2025, where local experts reinforced the territory’s reputation as a pioneering force in global financial services and digital innovation.
Led by BVI Finance CEO Elise Donovan, Director of Business Development & Marketing Rhodni Skelton, and Senior Administrative Officer and in-house fintech expert Trevaughn Smith, the BVI delegation demonstrated to North America that the territory is not only embracing the digital future but is actively shaping it.
Throughout Canada Crypto Week, BVI Finance emphasised that the jurisdiction is laying the groundwork for a secure, innovative, and forward-thinking digital financial ecosystem. With a world-class legal system, regulatory excellence, and a strong commitment to digital innovation, the BVI is positioning itself as a leader in the next era of global business.
“The energy, engagement, and enthusiasm we experienced this week is a testament to the BVI’s growing influence in the fintech space,” said Donovan. “As the world continues to evolve, the BVI remains committed to building a future where trust, innovation, and opportunity converge.”
Accompanying the BVI Finance team were several key representatives from the territory’s financial and legal services sectors, further strengthening the BVI’s presence on the global stage.
The delegation included experts from local firms such as DLT Solutions, Ogier, Walkers, Harneys, Appleby, and others.
The BVI’s financial services industry has faced growing challenges in recent times, particularly mounting international pressure to disclose the identities of wealthy individuals who store assets in offshore companies registered in the territory.
The BVI has been working to diversify its financial services offerings by expanding into the cryptocurrency and fintech sectors as one response to these pressures.
