BVI swimmer cops two silver medals at CARIFTA

The BVI’s young swimming sensation Elinah Phillip has won two silver medals at the 2018 CARIFTA Games.

She took second place in the 50-metre Butterfly at National Aquatic Centre in Kingston, Jamaica where the swimming segment of the Games was held.

She finished with a time of 28.29 seconds behind Curacao’s Chade Nersicio, who swam 28 seconds.

Phillip copped her second silver medal in the Girls 100-metre freestyle (15 to 17 age) category.

She swam a time of 59.97 seconds.

Bermuda’s Madelyn Moore won gold in 59.11 seconds.

Meanwhile, during the CARIFTA track and field events in The Bahamas, the BVI’s Rikkoi Brathwaite picked up a bronze medal in the Under-20 Boy’s 100-metre dash.
