CXC to help create customer service certification for gov’t workers
The Virgin Islands Public Service Learning Institute (VIPSLI) has announced plans to elevate customer service across the Territory through a partnership with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to create a specialised course for public servants.
VIPSLI Director Connie George revealed the institution’s intention to develop a formal Customer Service Certification Programme for public servants in 2025.
“We are working very hard with CXC to develop our own authentic course in customer service where persons will become qualified as customer service specialists,” George explained recently.
She noted that VIPSLI has provided data and a framework to CXC, which has in turn designed a course that will be recognised not only within the public service but also regionally and potentially globally.
“So you will be able to gain certification that will be recognized across the world through VIPSLI,” George added.
George confirmed that the program is expected to launch officially in 2025 and emphasized its significance in fostering a transformative culture of customer service within the government.
“This culture will permeate the entire government of the Virgin Islands,” she stated, expressing optimism about the eventual improvement in customer service throughout the Territory.
The initiative aligns with the government’s stated commitment to building a world-class public service. Earlier this year, the administration of Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley introduced and completed its Public Service 101 course for government workers across the Territory’s four main islands, an effort led by VIPSLI.
The VIPSLI plays a pivotal role in training and developing all new and existing public officers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and abilities to carry out their duties effectively.

You know, i have never experienced poor cusomer service except for some in the NHI department and two in the Ministry of Education.
Those, no doubbt were badly influenced and driven by others were ridilled with jealousy and envy, and who were chosen to carry out evil deeds.
Manyofthose experiences by many should be captured and published. While we are busy spending millions to attract some to our shores, we are busy from within, suffocating and chasing out our own good and capable people.
I chose to stay, not to be moved and payed a deadly price.
