Eyesore treated!

Authorities have acted swiftly to clear an illicit dumpsite following negative press regarding a pile of solid waste left by the roadside in Sea Cow’s Bay for the last few weeks.

Just hours after BVI News published a photo of the unsightly area on Tuesday, the dumped items—including old appliances, a mattress, and even a door—were removed.

The photo brought attention to the ongoing issue of indiscriminate dumping in the territory, sparking concern about environmental neglect and the need for better waste management practices.

Authorities have yet to comment on measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Do I sense dissapointment with the readership of this publication? dissapointed that action was taken , now they dont have the inefficiency argument they were hoping for. They was hoping to run it a 2nd and 3 day but the Administration got ahead of them.

  2. Cameras says:

Put cameras close to the garbage bins and we will see who the culprits are , most culprits are those guys with 3 yard trucks who got jobs to take them to the dump site and instead they put them by the dumpsters so solid waste can o the work for them . Implement heavy fines for those involved..

So if we send a photo of roadside trash and it’s published then the trash will be magically removed?

Lot at what a big and clean difference. Sometimes you have to drop embarrassing on people in order for them to do better. I live in Sea Cows Bay and I felt embarrassed when the picture hit the news site. More pictures of other Districts and post the pictures. That is indeed embarrassing to see your District looking like that.

      • Real Talk says:

How could our Representative allow this to happen? Solid waste Department has no regard for us in SCB. Not to mention the tourist buses seeing this. Where is our national pride? Only someone from another island would make a stupid decision to put them old vehicles there. Shows NO respect for the people of this Territory.

Ahh, the old blame game. BVIs would be in medal contention if it was an Olympic sport.

BVIs used to be a nice place until the pols became greed heads in it for themselves with zero accountability. Those pols are from here as are the voters who put them there. And, we you don’t like the “nasty outsiders”, why aren’t we training our progeny to do their work so they are not needed?

These VI have opened their treasury and their hospitality to more than a 100 from varied and different places countries and nationalities. THE problematic ones in every scenario are strictly from one specific location of the world map. Their nastiness is of their mind their body and their soul. The photos be it garbage or human are evidence. The steep decrease of quality of life in these parts,BVI,USVI can be attributed to strictly one specific demograhic…the group originating from liberated and self determination island Nations of poverty crime illiteracy. The blase excuse that their presenc ince here is dire smacks of foolishness. They are predomi antly maids and laborers, clerks A subclass that is readily available worldwide. This persistent self destruction by us a people and those we elect should be recognized, examined and remedied.

I take they do not travel to work to town from West End? Next to and opposite Save the Seed there are scrap vehicles with crawling plants growing. Even in town in the road next to garage and the computer shop a white car have crawling plant over it. What do the tourists think when they see all these? Aint never coming back that’s what.
