The following is a media release from local telecoms provider, Flow.

Five families of the Women In Need (WIN) BVI network will receive internet connectivity to support hybrid classroom activities, compliments of Flow, through the Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation (CWCF).

Flow’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Nadia James, spoke recently at an event where Flow presented LTE Router devices to WIN BVI officials.

James explained that connectivity, education and youth development are among the company’s key focus areas when considering community service initiatives.

She added that Flow, through the CWCF, was honoured to be given the opportunity to partner to provide access, and to support the learning needs of children within the WIN BVI Network for the period of one year.

James also took the opportunity to encourage other corporate entities within the BVI’s business community to also support the organisation. “The Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation recognises the importance of bridging the digital divide. In keeping with the Foundation’s mission of enabling progress and building resilient communities, we will continue to identify innovative solutions to ensure that our people are not left behind.”

Noelle Smikle, Director, Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation Director of WIN BVI, Alicia Greene thanked Flow for the donation and gave attendees details of the work being undertaken by the organisation, particularly with the launch of its Single Parents program, and the efforts to support parents and children through coaching, mentorship and financial literacy classes.

She also highlighted a number of upcoming fundraisers and encouraged the public to support the initiatives which include a ‘Back in Time’ Party and their second annual ‘Balloon Pop’ event.
