Flow customers in the Virgin Gorda community can expect an elevated experience at the telecommunications provider’s newly opened Retail Store.

Speaking at the April 25th opening and ribbon cutting event, Flow Country Manager, Ravindra Maywahlall said, “I take this opportunity thank our community partners, stakeholders, business leaders, and specially invited guests for joining us in celebrating this occasion. Just over two years ago, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses were grappling with the reality of the economic impact of the pandemic and having to make tough decisions to terminate staff. I am proud to say that Flow despite the operational challenges we faced, was committed to keeping our team employed, while continuing to keep our customers connected. We had to find innovative, alternative ways to reduce our costs.”

Maywahlall further explained that they adapted their operating model, and quickly transitioned from storefront operations to virtual operations. This enabled Flow to continue to serve its customers and to keep them connected to friends and family using their online channels and also through the use of WhatsApp and its website.

He added, “At Flow, we understand the importance of familiar voices and faces, as we know this makes a difference in the type of customer service we deliver. For the Virgin Gorda community, our team members, Senior Retail Sales Associate, Alicia Stevens Modeste, and our Technicians, Elvis London and Quentin Nickie, ensured that our customers continued to receive the warm, personal service that they are known for delivering. I want to acknowledge their excellent service and their efforts to keep our customers in Virgin Gorda connected!”

Territorial At-Large Representative and Junior Minister for Trade and Economic Development, Honourable Shereen Flax-Charles shared her delight at the return of the store-front operations saying. “When I heard that the store was closing I was a bit disappointed, but once I noted that we would still have access online to all services, it was simply a matter of adapting to a new way of doing business with Flow. However, we understand the challenges faced by businesses during the pandemic, and I am so happy that Flow has come back to Virgin Gorda, better than ever and will give our community a more elevated service experience”

Honourable Flax-Charles also expressed her appreciation for the work of the Flow Virgin Gorda team. She especially applauded the work of Mrs. Modeste and the quality of customer service provided and noted, “You have a gem in Alicia Modeste. Today I have to single her out because of the work that she has done to keep the reputation of Flow intact, even in the absence of a storefront. I look forward to her continued, fantastic customer service and all that she does for Virgin Gorda and for Flow. It is such a pleasure and we look forward to having the doors of Flow open in this beautiful edifice, and we are glad to have you back, and elevated at that.”

The Flow Virgin Gorda Retail Store will open daily from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, to serve customers and is located in the Island Dreams Plaza, next to the Island Pot Restaurant.
