    The Premier, the Port Director, and now the Postmaster General ……….perhaps this is not the best time to contemplate separating from GB and pursuing an independent government. I can’t imagine what this would look like without some sort of independent oversite.

    I guess the idea of institutions within the BVI holding persons to account like in other countries including the UK, can’t happen in the BVI. Commissions of Inquiry may be used to ensure accountability, indeed happen all the time in the UK. Never seen any recommendations to suspend Parliament coming out of any of them though, is it just because we’re a predominantly black country in the developing world? Or is it, once a colony always a colony? Have we not moved on to a more advanced relationship based on mutual respect?

    @TolaWoman

    I can attest to that because I’ve worked there for a short period of time. When I first started my pay was what it should be, then after it started decreasing as months go by. Everytime you call finance is always some BS! That whole hospital board and finance department needs revamping. I heard they are in need of workers, but they treat tha staff so bad and the staff worries about their pay and tell others, that’s why they are short staffed. Doctors and nurses leaving. And even if they can give young person in the community a chance to develop they won’t. They want experienced people to pay them chump change or under what their pay should be looking like.
