Four Haitians reportedly escaped custody while being held at what is believed to be a quarantine facility on Tortola recently.
BVI News understands that the quartet was under the supervision of a well-known local security company when they escaped.
Based on information reaching to our news centre, the police were alerted when the Haitians were discovered missing. A manhunt got underway shortly after and some of the escapees were spotted in the Duff’s Bottom area of Tortola and recaptured.
BVI News understands that one of the Haitians is still at large.

There’s some here in my neighborhood. I think they should stay since they are kinder than locals, better looking and works 10 times as hard. Oh, and he isn’t corrupt or bringing in tons of coke. Which I see as a plus.
Name the dammed company so we know to kick up a fuss if they get any or already gah big contracts owned by some crony who ain’t on the ball at all.
Staff was sleeping and watching their phones, for true.
Immigration right now is a hot mess. Mr. Penn bout time you retire. This is the second time persons got away under that security company and im sure no investigation was done.
Before they get officers to work in the Belongers and Residency section or even at the port of entry they gone and give the Deputy Chief Immigration, a personal assistance. Some department head don’t even have have PA. It sad, so sad. Mr. Vincent, as the head you really need to go!!!!!
I wonder if he has been employed yet ? maybe foiboi could give him his belongership now to save time later
I thought there were no more government quarantined building. I bet is one security company still getting all government security jobs. How unkind. How unfair. This has to stop. Everyone has to eat. The rich getting richer and the others push down deeper.
This is what happens when a premier refuses to work with a governor who is responsible for national security. If government cannot handle detention of illegal immigrants now what exactly would they be able to handle if there is another Irma, unless the Governor intervenes. Why he not allowing the governor to intervene to secure the borders from illegal immigrants and drugs trafficking in the first place. A joke!
Is the premier responsible for this or does it come under the immigration department?
