Iris Penn Smith Clinic temporarily closed

The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has announced the temporary closure of the Iris Penn Smith Clinic in East End until further notice due to administrative adjustments.

In a statement, the BVIHSA explained that the closure is part of efforts to reallocate resources and streamline operations aimed at optimizing healthcare delivery in the East End area.

“These adjustments will allow us to streamline operations and improve the overall efficiency of services provided to our valued clients,” the BVIHSA noted.

During this period, all services previously offered at the Iris Penn Smith Clinic have been redirected to the Rosalind Penn Clinic in Long Look. Patients requiring medical care and other health-related services are advised to visit the Long Look clinic.

The BVIHSA has assured the public that updates on the reopening date of the East End clinic will be provided as soon as they are available.

This is not the first temporary closure for the Iris Penn Smith Clinic. In June 2024, the facility was shut down due to electricity issues.
