Long Bush man cuts off panties for sex
A Spanish-speaking man has appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on allegations that he forcibly cut his lover’s underwear off her body.
It is alleged that Yuli Hodge removed the woman’s panties because she objected to his sexual advances.
He pleaded guilty to damaging property and being armed with an offensive weapon.
The Long Bush resident however pleaded not guilty to a third charge – assault causing actual bodily harm.
With the aid of a translator, Hodge told the court that his lover did not suffer any ‘actual’ injury.
Reports are that, about midnight on December 18 last year, the complainant in the matter returned home and joined Hodge in bed.
Hodge reportedly made sexual advances at her, but she refused to accept him. Hodge persisted, but his lover did not budge.
After being turned away, Hodge reportedly retrieved a pair of scissors from the bathroom and jumped on top of the woman.
He cut off her panties, the court heard.
Allegations are that the woman struggled to keep her clothes on. She screamed for help.
Hodge reportedly grabbed the woman by the neck and banged her head on the wall. It is alleged that he also bit her on the hand.
The couple struggled into the kitchen of their Long Bush residence, and the woman used a knife to fend her accused lover away.
Police arrived at the scene some time later, but Hodge blocked them from entering the residence.
The woman tried to get out of the house by pulling the entrance door while still holding the knife.
Hodge was cut on the foot during the commotion.
He was eventually charged for the offences.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo granted Hodge $30,000 bail after he answered to the charges.
Hodge told the court that he is still in a relationship with the woman.
He was told not to harass her, and to return to court on July 6.
