Mark your construction tools, police advise

The following is a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

With the increase in the theft and recovery of stolen construction tools, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is reminding contractors or owners of construction tools to ensure that your tools are easily identified.

Identifiable markings such as carved initials of the tool owner, or other detectable engravings would be very helpful to police as they track the perpetrators of these crimes.

Additionally, ensure that you record the serial numbers of these tools and keep these numbers in a secure place in case the items are stolen and later recovered.

  1. What a great place says:

Police telling us to mark our tools because such things getting stolen. Before long, we’ll be getting told to put security bars on windows, and to chain anything down we want to keep. People using guns to settle arguments, and so forth. What a place…

  2. Yep says:

They came to ” build us up”.
We have been built to their standards.
    Standards fitting their comfort customs.
A willing trade for the votes.
