McMaster wins again! Qualifies for Olympic final
Kyron McMaster has made the Olympic final of the men’s 400-metre hurdles event.
Running out of lane number seven, McMaster finished his semi-final in first with a time of 48.26 on Sunday morning, August 1 (BVI time).
This makes him the second BVI athlete in the history of the territory to make an Olympic final. The first was Chantel Malone who made her Long Jump final hours earlier.
In the final, McMaster will vie for a podium finish by competing against the event’s world record-holder, Karsten Warholm, as well as the third and fourth fastest 400m hurdlers in the history of the sport — Rai Benjamin and Abderrahman Samba, respectively.
The event is scheduled to take place Monday night, August 2, at 11:20 pm BVI time.
