One in custody following boat chase by BVI and US authorities
A person whose identity has not yet been made public was taken into custody following boat chase that ended in BVI waters today.
The chase was the result of a joint operation between the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) and US federal authorities.
This is according to the Information Unit of the RVIPF who released a brief statement moments ago.
“The operation is still live and ongoing, therefore, no other information can be provided at this time,” the police stated.
While the police have not provided further details, BVI News understands that part their operation took place near Frenchman’s Cay on Tortola.

P.S.A to all you land crabs
Dear land crabs, the whales are beaching ashore! The tides are indeed changing…wave goodbye!
The Premiere should address this problem. We need to establish a joint task force with the US which has far more resources than we do. Tighter we can stop the drug trade and human trafficking.
And once again you ask; where were customs?
All tucked up at home counting their share?
J* Pic***ing always involving himself in some stupidness
Lots of single Americans suddenly visiting. Not the typical tourists. Quite a few been here several weeks. Hope they help clean house around here.
These Guys must not watch the news. The US and the British have decided to run joint operations to curve this type of activity. Find a day job.
people don’t be shock when you hear certain people involved or get caught. A lot of people who placed themselves as entrepreneurs are nothing but drug dealers hiding behind a post. Don’t get jealous of certain people lifestyle or business move; it’s all dirty money
Since when was Frenchman’s Cay on Tortola?! Only Tortola is on Tortola. That’s why there’s the need for a bridge to Frenchman’s Cay from Tortola.
Could be just people wanting to come to visit the BVI, and nothing else. Only reason to be so suspicious, is if you into something illicit. In the streets you call that watchy-watchy, aint it?! Karma!
I wonder how many tourist saw this. Does this make the BVI look bad??????
Read more carefully…. “took place near Frenchman’s Cay on Tortola” it happened on Tortola in the proximity of Frenchman cay…
They need to make a law that state any boats with drugs will be seized by custom and will never be returned to the owner or their family.
You got to be an a** where them tourist vome from it is worst tale your head from up yo bottom.
How you know they are single? You must be one of those people that work customs or something that does be looking at the forms. I hate those forms! Asking so much unnecessary information. Every time I am going into the BVI I have a different occupation, email address, contact info and relationship status…ridiculous!
The truth is that surveillance is tight in both Virgin Islands , US & British. It is apparent that the time has come for all the lawless people to change course now and stop taking chances with their life. You should realize that The whole place is HOT and since the activities of April 28 and all the constant smuggling of illegal aliens into the country security has been tightened and so the borders are protected from all this illegal activity. Please do yourselves and your family the favor by NOT engaging in this practice and spare yourself the details of adding to the statistics. It’s NOT worth it, so reconsider your plans and actions.
I guess they still think this is the 80’s and 90’s. Technology has change. There are bugs up in the sky all day and night. Watching every move.
