One Love FC is now just three points behind the Sugar Boys, who sit at the top of the National Football League’s table at 15 points.

One Love climbed to 12 points when they defeated the Wolues at the weekend.

They won 2-1 to record their fourth victory of the season.

Zaron Williams opened the scoring for One Love in the 28th minute. However, Chester James of the Wolues equalized before half time.

Breaton Douglas then returned in the 59th minute to score One Love’s second goal of the match.

Old Madrid vs the Panthers

During the second match at the weekend, Old Madrid clobbered the Panthers with a two-nil victory.

Madrid’s Rohan Sweeney netted the first goal near halftime, then his teammate Xavier John scored the second goal in the 47th minute.

A media release from the BVI Football Association said the third scheduled match for the weekend would have seen the Islanders going up against the Rebels.

However, the match was postponed because both teams had players selected to attend a national training camp.

In the meantime, the two leading teams of the season – Sugar Boys and One Love – will go head-to-head on April 22.

That date will also see the Wolues facing off against VG United.

Both matches are scheduled for Virgin Gorda.
