OT Minister briefed on armed robbery at Aladdin’s jewellery store

UK Overseas Territories Minister, Stephen Doughty inside Aladdin’s Jewellery Store where a daring daylight robbery occurred months ago.

Overseas Territories (OT) Minister Stephen Doughty was briefed on the daring armed robbery that took place earlier this year at the Aladdin jewellery in Road Town.

According to a statement from Governor Daniel Pruce’s office, the OT Minister visited the prominent jewellery store on his way back to the Governor’s House, as part of his tour to assess the security landscape in the territory.

During his two-day visit from Monday, November 4, to Wednesday, November 6, Minister Doughty has been updated on ongoing security challenges in the Virgin Islands, which could possibly inform his decision on whether to lift the UK-imposed Order in Council.

In February, four masked men armed with high-powered weapons carried out a brazen robbery at the Aladdin boutique, which sells high-end jewelry, colognes, and luxury items, leaving three female staff members traumatised but uninjured.

Following the incident, the National Security Council (NSC), led by the Governor, approved measures to strengthen public security, including daily foot patrols in the Road Town area and the addition of 30 new police officers to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF). The NSC, which includes key government officials, is responsible for overseeing internal security matters in the territory.

Would have loved to see him visiting with the Minister for Communications and Works with regards to the infrastructure of this place. And why isn’t he visiting with the Commission of Police rather than Aladdin. Wow. The whole world is a Clown show. Clown show in the BVI. Clown show in America. Clown shows everywhere. Help us Father Jesus. We need you.

Leaders set the tone for a country.

Where are the presence of the 30 additional offices felt?
    Corrupt leaders create dishonest country
Prejudice leaders lead to a hostile country

Racist leaders create racial bias and an unwelcome public service
Hypocritical leaders create hierarchy that is dangerous and perpetuate homogeneous insensitive isolation of people

The leaders are the ones who help to institutionalized evil
That is why people will see and say nothing
