Patrice Roberts and R City to headline return of VG Easter Fest
As the territory returns to some semblance of normalcy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Patrice Roberts and R City are expected to headline the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival as it makes its return after a hiatus caused by COVID.
The celebrations kicked off this past Sunday with the first staging of VG Got Talent – the brainchild of Deputy Speaker of the House, Neville Smith. However, the main part of this entertainment is expected to commence this Saturday, April 16 and finishes on Monday, April 18.
Saturday
On Saturday, R City, a popular Easter Festival act, will return to Virgin Gorda to perform. Other entertainment on the day includes a cultural food fair which is expected to begin at 10 am. There will also be a ‘music city car club’ car show which is expected to kick off at 10 am. Other performers include Leon and the Hot Shots, Dink Dawg, the Hardcore Band, and VIBE.
Sunday
Sunday will see the popular Trinidadian soca artist Patrice Roberts hit the stage with her band, the A-Team. Roberts was slated to perform at two previous celebrations but in 2018 issues with her travel arrangement and ultimately no show left patrons dissatisfied.
The “Carry On” and “Criminal Wine” singer was also booked for the 2020 staging of the Easter Festival, but the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the festival being cancelled.
Roberts will be joined by Pure Mas Band, It’s A Secret Band and Extreme Band. The day will also see an Easter Egg Hunt put on by The Valley Sound Lions Club at 3 pm, Walters’ Recreational Park, and a Hat Parade at 4 pm.
Monday
Monday will see entertainment being provided by ABM, a band that specialises in Indie and Alternate music. Revellers will also hear live entertainment from Up Top Band.

This is Rock City’s SECOND TIME in VG. They were actually to perform in Tortola in 2020 whe covid caused cancelation and deposit already paid. Destroy on the other hand has performed on the tortola stage at least 5 times
Sunday is a religious holiday so please allow adequate time during this day for VG folks to attend their church and celebrate their Christian beliefs in resurrection.
Please revise the dates for this these events. I mean, how can you put these activities with the greatest event in humanity- Easter
Please try to honor God….

No wow factor….wha happen to D queen show?
Before the people go down on their knees and pray to God they will go and listen to nonsense. Unbelievable they ingrates.
Nah..After playing church then it’s time for the poppy show..the urge to be in everything…is too much for the average Caribbean folk to fight..another chance to be seen…the need for attention good or bad..seems to override the fact that rents due..loans need paying…you broke and standing around sipping the same stout for hours…please sit down.
