Thirty-four officers from various public service agencies were recognised for their long and meritorious service during the King’s Birthday Parade and Celebration held on Friday, June 13.

The event, in honour of His Majesty King Charles III, began at Sir Olva Georges Plaza and proceeded along Waterfront Drive before concluding at Queen Elizabeth II Park, where the celebration ceremony took place.

His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Daniel Pruce, inspected the parade units, followed by the traditional march-past, the hoisting of the Governor’s Standard, and the Royal Salute in tribute to His Majesty.

Among those honoured, 16 officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force received medals. Six received the Overseas Territories Police Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct for 18 years of service; seven received the First Clasp to the Overseas Territories Police Long Service Medal for 25 years of service; and one officer received the Second Clasp for 30 years of service.

In the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services, two officers were awarded for 18 years of service, and three for 25 years. Additionally, four officers from the Department of Immigration and ten from His Majesty’s Customs received the Governor’s Meritorious Service Award.
