Police charge man found with over 60 small bags of weed
BVI News understands that a man was recently slapped with cannabis-related charges after police caught him with more than sixty small parcels of marijuana.
The cops are said to believe the weed was packaged for sale.
The incident reportedly happened some time last week at a nightclub in Purcell Estate. However, it is not clear whether the accused resides in that community.
Police officers in the area allegedly smelled a strong scent coming from a vehicle and asked the driver’s permission to search.
It’s further reported that during the search, more than 60 small bags of marijuana were found by the law enforcers. After the discovery, the accused reportedly denied ownership of the vehicle and parcels of weed.
However, reports reaching our news centre is that the accused admitted ownership of the drugs after he was arrested by the police.
BVI News hasn’t been able to ascertain the exact weight of the drugs but it is reportedly under one kilogram.
It’s also unclear whether the accused will appear in court to answer the drug-related charges against him.
