Premier outsmarted the Opposition in Cabinet shuffle — Skelton Cline
Commentator and clergyman Claude Skelton Cline said he believes Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley outmanoeuvred the political Opposition in a recent Cabinet shuffle.
Skelton Cline, speaking on his radio show “Honestly Speaking,” explained that the Premier’s decision was a proactive response to a pending no-confidence motion in the House of Assembly (HOA). According to him, this reshuffle not only preserved the government’s stability but also showcased Premier Wheatley’s tactical approach to navigating the current political climate.
In the unexpected reshuffle, Premier Wheatley removed former Deputy Premier Lorna Smith and replaced her with Third District Representative Julian Fraser, whom Skelton Cline suggested was rescued from over a decade of political isolation.
“This Premier has shown two things, I think. First of all, you’re not gonna outtalk him,” Skelton Cline said. “The Premier is obviously a very bright man. He comes from a bright blood lineage of intellectuals. He’s a thinking fellow.”
According to the talk show host, the Premier has remained two or three steps ahead of everybody when it comes to holding on to power. “So, you can’t outtalk him. The one that comes closest to outtalking him is the member of the Sixth, [Myron Walwyn] and… the gift of articulation is a good one to have,” Skelton Cline remarked. “They have not been able to out-strategise him.”
The shuffle comes as a response to what Skelton Cline described as “political war.” He implied that the Premier’s decision helped to avoid a potential crisis by ensuring that those who remain are fully aligned with the government’s objectives. He argued that this move reflected Wheatley’s skill in maintaining authority and managing party loyalty amid challenges from the Opposition.
Some speculated that the newly appointed Deputy Premier might switch sides. However, Skelton Cline dismissed this, asserting that such a move was “not how our system works.” He urged the public to reject the idea of further political shifts, stating, “We need some stability. We need the country to progress. We need the country to move forward.”
Skelton Cline urged Opposition members to unify and present a viable alternative. He warned that the current disunity within Opposition parties weakens their position.

Claude how about carrying back the money you got for contracts where you did not work? Natalio was a member of the government at that time. Where was his gift of articulation at that time to articulate to you that you should not be taking the government money without producing work? I will wait for your response next week on “Dishonestly Speaking”.
The opposition is dumb both Ronnie and Myron no one is clear who the opposition leader is!
It is clear that Ronnie is the leader but Myron is more outspoken. That’s does not mean weakness. It don’t have any empty vessels on the opposition side
THE PROBLEM WITH THE OPPOSITION IS RONNIE….HE MUST BE CHIEF OR ELSE NOTHING WILL FORM AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM BUT EVERYBODY BLAMING LORNA, FRASER, MARLON AND MYRON
THE PROBLEM WITH THE OPPOSITION IS RONNIE….HE MUST BE CHIEF OR ELSE NOTHING WILL FORM AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM BUT EVERYBODY BLAMING LORNA, FRASER, MARLON AND MYRON…………..SO THE QUESTION IS, SO HE RONNIE MUST BE CHIEF?????????
C S C,you put me to think,between A Fahie,S Wheatly,and you who can TALK the most.?
Scores to settle
1. Myron and Ronnie – for not supporting Myron’s successful leadership bid and mashing up the NDP.
a. Remember Mitch deserted the NDP alongside Ronnie as well.
2. Marlon and Lorna – for using the NDP to get elected and deserting them in the immediate aftermath of the elections.
3. Lorna and Ronnie – for mashing up the party that her husband led for many years.
4. Marlon and Myron – who is the rightful leader of the NDP.
5. Mitch and Stacy – why Stacy sitting next to the Leader of the Opposition and not me. I am there longer than him and I was a Minister before.
Too many scores to settle on that side. If they can’t heal in opposition, they will bleed on us in government.
You think you slick??? Listening to someone like you, it won’t be too long before a similar Fiasco like Head Coach repeat itself. reshuffle in Ministries also. Check Labour and immigration, Then Figure it out!!! Bam! Think Corner Woman was a Deceiver? Think again. Watch Me Wuk baby!!!!
Ok clause has been shown the political consultant recommendations letter of which he pulled a couple of rhetoric from to preface his writing, and in it we know Myron walwyn is brilliant, but to mention it in that way is to help create a belligerent dialectic academic upmanship in the opposition to create instability on leadership and mistrust, csc is the anonymous invisible paid political consultant in sowandie cabinet, and he is massaging Fraser ego to go sleep and also incitation by public opinions that can create an unstable political climate, but time is a terrible master, you will be humbled by it, because we know not what it brings in the future, the young man Wheatley I consumed by power and not love for BVI, or else he do leave Vybz Kartel and party behind and put the people of the BVI concerns up front, he shall pay the price in a way Fahie did, even though he did so much good.
1. He manipulated and reshuffled to maintain his position and stability of his Govt
2. However, his lineage is not more intelligent than anyone else . It is a cunning skill implemented by his Trini advisor
3. He will end up outsmarting his own-self
4. Too much injustice going on in the country
5. The split weaken the NDP party and if Ronnie and Marlon
Do not come together their pride would be their own political demised . After this term go around by Both parties on
Their own would be the death of PVIM and NDP for good .
VIP all the way
Ronnie and Marlon are politically DEAD, especially as party leaders! NDP’s only hope is Myron and a few other decent ones with him. Bring Ronnie and Marlon then we have another VIP term, I’m not asking you, I’m telling you!
One thing I have learned since living in the BVI, don’t get caught sleeping on Wheatley or Frazer. Those two have the power to do …………….
Did he though – did outsmart the opposition or just himself? Shows his true character that he can be sneaky and do whatever it takes to stay in power.
By walking out of the No confidence vote and sacking Lorna Smith – who was doing a good job in Financial Services – and inviting Fraser to be deputy it meant he just kept himself in power. There is the old saying you keep you friends close but your enemies closer comes to mind. Having Lorna on the outside may be worse for him. And her sacking just shows he is as power hungry as the rest of them.
Maybe the people of BVI should stand up and complain more about the high prices of food, the very bad roads and potholes – Sea Cows Bay road has been dug up for 4 months and not repaired and the sewerage system, – still not right after all these years.
When you hear more of Claude Skelton Cline it’s a signal that foolishness is afoot.
He out smarted his own azz to our deathrement as to the cost of the orden in council had to be shifted.
He think the UK is not listening to the people’s cry.
The Premier and VIP need another COI!!
