RVIPF denies media claims of assault between top officers

Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has responded to a local media report alleging that Assistant Police Commissioner Pam Trevillion assaulted Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool.

The article, published on February 10, claimed that an “altercation” occurred in which the Assistant Commissioner allegedly assaulted the Acting Commissioner and was placed on leave as a result.

However, in a subsequent media release, the RVIPF dismissed the report as misinformation.

“The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has become aware of an article titled ‘Assistant COP Pam Trevillion Said to be on Forced Leave,’ published by a local media site,” the statement read.

“The RVIPF would like to clarify that the content of this article is erroneous, misleading, and best described as misinformation. The Acting Commissioner wishes to make it abundantly clear that there was no physical confrontation between herself and Assistant Commissioner Pam Trevillion. Furthermore, no investigation of any kind has been launched regarding an alleged assault by the ACP,” the release added.

Acting Commissioner Vanterpool further criticiseed the report, stating that the claims could have been easily verified by contacting her directly or reaching out to her office, both of which remain accessible to the media.

“The assertions in the article have serious reputational implications for the Office of the Commissioner, the officer named, and the overall harmony within the RVIPF. Acting Commissioner Vanterpool disassociates herself entirely from the claims made in the report and will not be commenting further on what is clearly misinformation.”

You are dead wrong and quite presumptious at best.

We have here a senario where a UK national, due to colonial past and entitlements, believe the she should be entitled to the post of COP based solely on colonial presedent.

Further, having no respect for the African Black person, personally or professionally, it is sometiimes impossible for her to bow and give respect to COP Vanterpool, either as her boss or a human being.

It is hoped that then, the United Nations recommendations will soon bring about some greater political self determination for these lands, as the children of the enslavers and colonisers are becoming emboldened in their arrogance, entitlement and disrespect.
