Shots fired in Purcell Estate!

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed reports of gunfire in Purcell Estate early this morning, Tuesday, August 20.

The RVIPF stated that although no individuals were present when they arrived at the scene, they secured the area and are actively investigating the incident. Law enforcement officials reported finding spent shell casings at the scene, indicating evidence of the shooting.

The RVIPF assured the public that more information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

This incident marks the first known shooting in August, following the last reported shootings in July.

The RVIPF previously launched major investigations into two shooting incidents in July, which resulted in two deaths and one injury. These incidents, which occurred during the weekend of July 27, led the RVIPF to appeal for public assistance.

The first shooting took place in Baughers Bay on Saturday, July 27, where a man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital. The second shooting occurred in Road Town on Sunday, July 28, where 34-year-old Jareem Todman was shot multiple times and subsequently died.

There have been no further updates on these cases since.

What else is new? This is the norm in the good ole BVI anyway. To the law abiding people in the BVI just be aware of your surroundings at all time. Let the streetitis gangsters, wangsters, hood rats or whatever they are called do themselves in. If they don’t care, why should the law abiding people care or make it their problem to care.
