It’s understood that the victims left the school campus during lunchtime and took a shortcut on their way back to campus. That’s when they were held by two men wearing masks, who demanded certain items from them.
It’s reported that one of the robbers had both hands underneath his shirt as he pointed an object at the boys that they said looked like a gun. However, there is no confirmation that a gun was involved in the incident.
The robbers soon managed to take off with a backpack, mobile phone and other items the students had.
Our news centre was told that police investigations — including the assessment of CCTV footage — later led to the arrest of one teen. The whereabouts of the second suspect are unknown and it is unclear whether he is also a student.
In the meantime, it’s understood that the suspect has been granted bail in the sum of $10,000 and is set to appear in court in March to answer to the charges against him.
