The BVI must guard its name and reputation
Premier Andrew Fahie has argued that the BVI has to guard its name since it trades on its name and has built up a good brand over decades.
Speaking at a press conference recently, the Premier reiterated calls that an apology must be issued by persons who have besmirched the BVI‘s name during the Commission of Inquiry (COI).
“In terms of reputation,” Premier Fahie said, “it is a travesty that some people have said things that are damaging to our reputation and said it like it is facts.”
“When people play with your name that is a very dangerous thing. That does not show that you’re into a modern partnership when you do those irresponsible acts,” the Premier said.
He continued: “I’ve stated clearly that in the COI those persons that did that had an opportunity to bring whatever evidence that they had to produce and it was never produced in the COI along that line. Those were irresponsible statements and persons who did them deserve to know that they need to apologise to the people of the Virgin Islands.”
In the recent past, the Premier has singled out former governor, Augustus Jaspert, for comments he made during the COI about unnamed elected officials being affiliated with criminals and the drug trade.
The Premier had stated that Jaspert’s remarks were both reckless and without basis. The leader of government’s business has, therefore, demanded a retraction and an apology.
BVI now has mature governor
Despite all of this, though, Premier Fahie said the United Kingdom (UK) has shown a willingness to turn a page on the issue of a modern partnership and has now given the BVI a governor with some amount of experience in the post.
“They have given us a governor now that is mature, a governor that is an adult, a governor who respects his ability to interpret the constitution and at least even if we disagree we do so in a professional manner,” the Premier said.
He added that the rest, with time, will take care of itself.

Exhibiting your colonialist way of being.
Some, to almost many want less colonialism, not more.
Have you ever got tired of puking when you should be eating, or wanting to be free, but not being, and knowing that you will die not ever knowing the true feeling of freedom?
And here you are every day advocating for greater colonialism, imperialism, racism, hatred and disenfranchisement to be increades upon our people.
The horror!!!!!!
Freedom has gone forever fool. No human will be free again. Are you watching the world? Obviously not. We are all loosing our freedom right now!! The new world is upon us and you people are still going to church asking your make believe man in the sky for help.. wake up BVI
Yeah, it’s working real well for Haiti. You are welcome to move there old time.
Freedom is good for the people of the UK, not for those Black VIslanders eh?
The VIP and NDP spoilt the country’s good name
Mr. Fahie did you not hear… easy dog bite hard
After you done spoil the name of the BVI with your reckless accusations against other politicians and your poor management skills as the premier and minister of finance. You were at the top of your voice calling the NDP the most corrupt government in the history of the BVI. When COI asked you about those comments you wanted to melt because you could not defend what you said. You have destroyed the reputation of the BVI including your past history with international investigative agencies as well. The day the BVI could get rid if you would be a day too soon. Something is wrong with you!
Andrew when you made the infamous public ann ouncement several years ago that the then Gov was corrupt MsP as best as she could and in her way, told you just that.
You Sir, singlehandedly has tarnished the reputation of these VI.
We can n ever forget. It will be written in the history books.
Andrew, you will forever, remain an u**y splash on the pages of our history.
Says the man who brought the most disgrace to these Virgin Islands. Stop speaking Mr. A. F4h!3. even the high school children are appalled by your total lack of in**grity
Mr Premier when will apologize to the ndp and the people of the bvi for stating that the ndp is the most corrupt government anywhere in the world. When will the VIP party apologize for propagating those same sentiments during the last elections. Why blame Gus when it was you who carry your f*t a.. to the governor house demanding a coi. Wasn’t it you who started it, Gus finish it. Gus is only repeating what you told him.
YES PREMIER. WE TRADE ON OUR NAME, IT’S CALLED BRITISH
Fahie you have forgotten Mrs.PS also stated she and her circle were involved with such with you. therefore, seek an apology from Mrs.PS (ex-PM).
her words, not mine.
Well it did have a nice reputation. That ended years ago
But who tarnishes the BVI name and reputation more than the politicians who continue to do as they feel and make Here look like all we do is run drugs and build mansions with tax payers money?
All the achievements we make to the outside world are miniscule compared to the scrutiny we get from others who look to turn a blind eye to those accomplishments and only focus on the bad and egregious.
But I guess you talking to yourself in the mirror, eh Mr Premier?
Wasn’t this the culprit who told the whole world in 2018 that the BVI is run by a corrupt government?
Now i see why miss p had told him a few mudder disses…lol
The name is secure. Hostile customs and immigration, $20k cash fines for innocent passage, billions in coke at crooked cops houses, gun crime, and COVID superstition. None of that will go anywhere.
