Two Tortola men slapped with rape charges

As the territory continues to experience an uptick in criminal activities, BVI News understands that two men who live on Tortola, were last week arrested and slapped with rape charges.

The first arrest was reportedly made last Wednesday and our sources say the suspect is a resident of Slaney Hill.

Details of the incident that led to the rape charge are unclear but our sources say the man was charged for rape as well as indecent assault.

A day after that arrest, a 44-year-old man from the Pockwood Pond community was arrested and charged for rape.

Our news centre has not been able to ascertain whether the charges are related to the same incident and whether the men are first-time suspects.

It’s also unclear whether the cases involve minors and whether the men have been offered bail.
