Uber Soca Cruise to make first-ever stop to BVI in 2025

The Uber Soca Cruise (USC), renowned as the largest Caribbean music festival at sea, has announced its 2025 voyage will include a first-ever stop in Tortola, BVI.

The announcement marks a significant addition to the cruise’s itinerary and promises an infusion of Caribbean soca music and culture to the territory.

In a Facebook post dated December 27, the USC team expressed excitement about the announcement.
“We’re thrilled to finally reveal the ship and destinations for USC 2025,” the post stated.

The USC team said the 2025 cruise will be hosted on the Norwegian Encore, the largest ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, and will also visit Great Stirrup Cay, a private island in the Bahamas, and St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.

The Encore will sail from November 15 to 22, 2025, offering a seven-night all-inclusive experience aboard the vessel and a unique blend of luxury and Caribbean revelry. With over 55 events and 80 entertainers, guests can expect non-stop soca parties, live concerts, themed parties, J’ouvert celebrations, comedy shows, pool parties, beach parties, workshops, seminars, sports tournaments, and wellness activities.

The announcement also outlined the next steps for prospective attendees: the launch of the updated website with pricing, deck plans, and itinerary details; activation of the USC booking portal; distribution of unique booking tokens to DAMM Members, granting them access to a private booking environment; followed by RSVPs receiving their tokens to finalise reservations; and eventually, opening bookings to the general public.

The inclusion of Tortola in the 2025 itinerary is expected to boost local tourism and provide economic benefits to the wider BVI. The cruise attracts a diverse group of soca enthusiasts from around the world, offering them an opportunity to experience the natural beauty and rich culture of the islands.

The Uber Soca Cruise has built a reputation for delivering an immersive carnival experience on the high seas. According to their website, it is “an experience beyond the music,” blending the festive atmosphere of Caribbean carnivals with the luxury and convenience of a cruise.

It is not immediately clear if the BVI Tourist Board is involved in the planning and promoting of the upcoming event.

Further details regarding the lineup of artistes, specific event schedules, and additional information will be available on the official USC website and social media channels.

Pothole tramp/J’ouvert coming to us in 2025! Hope no one gets lost on one of our locally designed craters. Maybe they will theme it like a Mars or Moon themed with patrons decked out for our roads.

This NCL ship with this party will visit the BVI almost 1 year from now at the end of the 2025 hurricane season.

So the Lobster festival is normally the last weekend in November so the cruise participants won’t be here for that. Does this mean that the dates for the stop to BVI is around mid November? What would be planned? Is it a Carnival like atmosphere in the streets of Road Town?
