Young athlete charged for alleged unlawful sex
A young British Virgin Islands athlete has been arrested and charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.
The 19-year-old British Virgin Islands native, who was held yesterday, is yet to appear before the Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.
His name is being withheld until the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) responds to certain queries made by our news team.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, the RVIPF this week announced in its Arrest Blotter that Baughers Bay resident Jerome Hopkins Jr has been arrested and charged with indecent assault. It did not give further details, but stated that the charge was laid on July 21.
