RVIPF launch collaborative probe into tour bus fire with taxi commission, BVITB

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said they are conducting a collaborative investigation into the fire that destroyed a tour bus carrying tourists on Tuesday.

Police said they are collaborating with the BVI Tourist Board and the Taxi & livery Commission.

According to an official statement from the RVIPF, “the driver of the said bus was travelling uphill on the Joe’s Hill Public Road when the bus encountered mechanical difficulty resulting in the front portion of the bus bursting into flames”.

The driver and tourists on board managed to disembark the vehicle without injury, police confirmed.

“The fire was completely extinguished without any damage to property in the area and the tourists were allowed to continue their tour on a different bus,” police added.

  1. No nonsense says:

Here is where we need health and safety laws. Public transport should be equipped with a first aid kit, a reflector jacket,a triangle and a fire extinguisher. The driver should also have certified knowledge before obtaining a license. But then again its the law makers to say YES to imported matters like these. With things like these OUR government have less chances of bad publicity and sueing in accidents with tourist
