$247K to furnish Finance Ministry
The government has awarded a contract valuing just under a quarter-million dollars to furnish the Ministry of Finance’s offices located at RFG Place on Waterfront Drive in Road Town.
This $247,871.7 contract was awarded to Island Services (BVI) Ltd.
Cabinet awarded the contract on the recommendation of the Central Tenders Board’s technical sub-committee.
The specific terms of the agreement are for Island Services to both supply and install the furniture, a Cabinet decision document on its May 28 meeting released last week stated.
During that meeting, Cabinet also reviewed and considered the strategic plan for delivery of the House of Assembly Reconfiguration Project which is estimated to cost more than $100,000.
The Cabinet decided that the project should be implemented using a series of petty contracts in accordance with the strategic plan presented.
The decision document did not specify what the reconfiguration project was.

in these hard times and they still thinking about only lining their pockets.. God help us..
What this have to do with lining pocket? Did you see the hell hole hurricane Irma created in that office. Strrrps
and yet they spend little to no money on education and the health care system. Not even the infrastructure of the BVI being taken care of.
$247,871.7 To furnish the Ministry of Finance’s offices, but they dont have $14,000.00 to get the files printed for the COI. The VIP is trying to show the UK I can do what I want and you cant stop me this is crazy. The government is spending money like crazy and they are under investagation go figure. I cant to see the outcome of this, if its anything less than a take over then the COI was a wase of time.
Wouldn’t that money be better spent on helping those most vulnerable during this pandemic or to adjust the cost of testing for the virus? The country is in a lockdown, so who will see these furnishing? Do these furnishings include a commercial size copier, so the COI can get the copies that he requested?
How did we find those funds while ESHS still lacks the furniture needed for our children to return to school? Smh
it will never stop. hi end chairs for them to fart on
They cant allow to get away with all the wrongs and abuses and misuses of Public Funds…Something has to be done or, else these elected officials wont stop..
Ok this is just ridiculous. How big is the office of the ministry of finance and what portion of that budget is actually being spent on furniture. If the ministry of finance itself cannot procure a sensible deal, then the problem speaks for itself.
WHAT ABOUT THE FURNITURE FOR ESHS AND SEVENTH GRADE?
How about more equipment, space, and personnel to deal with the pandemic of covid-19 which is huge in this country. The money would be best spent on this.
How about…..
more beds
moe ventilators
more supplies
more healthcare providers
for the dam hospital
These peoples are Insane! Do they really care about the US?
