Arrest Blotter: Minors among 10 charged

Roughly 10 persons were arrested and charged between March 4 and 18 for a variety of offences.

Two minors are among the most recent batch of arrested persons.

In its latest arrest blotter, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force listed those persons and charges as follows:

Murder

On March 4, police arrested and charged 25-year-old Vernon Bernard of Dominica for murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and taking conveyance.

He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded.

Police charged 27-year-old Rafael Harrigan 10 days later for murder.

Police also charged Harrigan with unlawful possession of a firearm and taking conveyance.

He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded.

Theft

On March 13, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Donald Hanley of the Valley in Virgin Gorda for theft.

Refusal to comply with an officer’s directive

On March 4, police arrested and charged Steve Parillon for refusal to comply with directions given by a police officer.

Unlawful possession of a controlled drug

On March 7, police arrested and charged Kevin Smalls of Fat Hogs Bay for unlawful possession of a controlled drug.

On March 15, police also arrested and charged 31-year-old Ray Newman of Free Bottom for unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Traffic offences

On March 7, police arrested and charged 26-year-old Kesheida Williams of East End for driving without a driver’s licence, taking conveyance without authority, driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, and driving without a policy of insurance. The accused was also charged for tinted windows.

Williams was granted police bail in the sum of $5,000 ahead of his appearance at Magistrate’s Court on April 20.

Police charged at a 16-year-old male from Belle Vue for driving without a driver’s licence on March 3.

He was granted police bail and will appear in court on April 20.

On March 11, police also arrested and charged a 17-year-old male from Belle Vue for driving without a driver’s licence on March 11.

He was granted bail ahead of his court appearance on April 20.

On March 16, police arrested and charged 30-year-old Gladys Lissette Lopez – a Dominican Republic native residing in Anegada – for driving without a driver’s license, driving unlicensed vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, and driving without a policy of insurance.
