Good luck Kye! Governor swears in minister as next Deputy Premier

Minister of Transportation, Works, and Utilities Kye Rymer is now Deputy Premier of the British Virgin Islands.

Governor Augustus Jaspert appointed and swore in Rymer to the post on Thursday morning, June 6.

He will serve in that post until September 5.

“I wish Honourable Rymer good luck and success as Deputy Premier,” the Governor said during the brief ceremony held at Government House.

Rymer is now the second minister to be appointed for three months in the post. The first was Minister of Education & Culture, Dr Natalio Wheatley.

Premier Andrew Fahie is giving each of his ministers in his government an opportunity to serve as Deputy Premier.

“After the first year, then someone will be named permanently to the post of Deputy Premier,” Premier Fahie said at the time.

He further said: “It allows for each minister to get the experience and also makes sure that each minister also develops in areas that normally in most governments might never have seen or had the opportunity to do.”

The Premier described his administration as one that is ‘inclusive’.

“We intend to build our people whether elected or not in the same manner so that we can all be ready and equipped to take on the challenges of tomorrow.”

Since when Mark is innocent for him not being swear in? Mark caused this on himself. He was to go and swear in after the elections but he refused to and publicly said that he quit. Mark need to understand that representing people is a vert serious thing.

That’s nonsense what you post. If more organizations and religious entities do what the Premier is doing then capcity building will be great and all organizations will be stronger than ever at all times.

It is excellent for in house here at home but not for the International Media. Hon. Fahie my Premier please dont let this drag on to long. In the event you cant perform your duties for whatever reason, the Premier cant perform his duties, the Deputy Premier has to led, and he has to be seen as capable to the world, and with the same level of respect.

Its a great idea but we must remember we are on the world seen not just BVI.
