Grade 11 students at BVI SDA School to isolate

The following is a media advisory from the Ministry of Health

The Public Health Unit of the Ministry of Health and Social Development is advising all Grade 11 students of the BVI Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School to self-isolate and abide by home quarantine guidelines available at https://bvi.gov.vg/media-centre/covid-19-stay-home-self-quarantine-isolation-guidance.

Self-isolation means that students should remain at home avoiding all social gatherings, churches, parties, supermarkets and follow all COVID-19 protocols and await further advice.

Parents of students identified as close contacts by contact tracing and who may require formal quarantine will receive such orders for them and their households to be quarantined.

The Public Health Unit will be in communication with close contacts to schedule testing.

The community is encouraged to do their part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by adhering to the established public health protocols.

@Lillian. Parents were crying more than the children for school to reopen. We all knew this was a possibility. We all have to continue doing the right thing.
