Menacing: Gunmen brought rifle to RiteWay robbery, shots fired even after taking cash

Not any of the men or the firearm mentioned in the story.

The gunmen that robbed RiteWay food market on Fleming Street last Saturday were armed with more than one firearms, inclusive of a rifle.

According to eyewitness reports, at least two assailants were involved in the heist.

They were reportedly wearing full black, inclusive of gloves and masks, BVI News was told.

It is reported that the gunmen gained access to the establishment by using the rifle to shoot through the glass entrance door of the food store. Staff members had locked themselves inside, at the time.

The assailants then took an unspecified amount of cash from the establishment.

Before the armed men escaped, however, they reportedly discharged a number of shots inside the store; leaving behind several spent shells.

No one was reported injured and no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.

Mere speculation here, but bet it could be them unemployed Spanish immigrants in that area.

A total immigration ban should be immediately implemented on that segment of the population and to include Jamaicans as well.

Next time there will be armed security licensed to and given authority to shoot to kill on sight.

Then, there will no further need for such comments.

So by your own admission of “mere speculation” leads you to your conclusion that there should be a “total immigration ban”. What a wonderfully rational and reasoned argument you put forward there. To be clear, its pretty hard to reside in BVI unless you are a belonger, a landholder or hold a work permit. So these “unemployed Spanish immigrants” if they are unemployed are likely belongers, so you cannot “ban” them.

I think a ban on belongers would be more effective. The facts speak for themselves. Crime is being carried out by the young offspring of the belongers. Now say what you racist pigs

Belongers are the descendants of slaves, therefore, they did not create racism, their slave owners, masters and profiteers of slavery did.

As such, you being the offspring of a slave owner and master, and judging from your vile consistent comments, you are an unrepentant, evil human hating racist.

Hence, you, your pale maggot coloured skin, dog nose and lice riddled hair should be banned from the BVI.

As, judging from your comments, you are a clear, imminent and definite danger/threat to the people of these Virgin Islands.

Therefore, I implore the Virgin Islands Police Force and the Immigration Department to trace you down and deport you before you do some serious harm to many, many people and or our children in this territory.

Please, people in authority, act before this hateful Satan acts out his hatred for us on us.

a.You don’t know that he/she is even in BVI for you to deport.
          b. All races can be racist. We were enslaved by inland tribes who sold us to the coastal tribes who sold us to the highest bidders. Who happened to be paler than us. Nobody comes out of this well.
          c. Hatred is also in all of us, as your comment shows. Calm down and be nice.
          d. What even is a dog nose and maggots come in all sorts of colors. They look quite cool.
          d. Many belongers are not descended from slaves.

People just sitting around on corners don’t have access to that type of fire power. That was an organized hit by experienced criminals who will do what they have to do to get what they want. The fact that they shot in the door and fired shots when leaving means they didn’t give a sh-t if they killed innocent people for a few thousand dollars. These are not people that are doing this for kicks or because they need a few bucks, these are hardened criminals.

A man walks into a store with a gun and steals $7.2
Million and is sent to prison for a long time.

An elected official diverts $7.2 Million into his family’s accounts and gets a happy wave goodbye?

Sad as the situation – One should investigate more by checking the as they stated that they have the shells from the bullets = Now according to how they put the bullets in wouldn’t their hand prints be present, I don’t know just a thought – just saying. I too feel
BVI need to GRAB THE BULL BY IT’S HORN and make the BVI SAFER since they are boasting as being the Boating Capital of the Caribbean. The NEW Government should make that a priority

So the staff had time to lock the doors. The gunmen had to shoot through the doors… then go in and rob the store… then they had time to fire off some rounds for fun… I am SURE when they locked the doors the police were called… WHY did they not make it there in time?

If you only knew the person or persons behind all these murders and roberies you will be surprised and if the police were smart all they had to do is look into the person or persons who has multiple criminals out on bail and check with the lawyers and you will find out the person or persons who are paying lawyer fees for multiple criminals and check with the prison and find out the person or persons who have been visiting multiple criminals there and supply them and their families with what they need and do you remember a few years ago a guy bailed two criminals at the cost of $100,000.00 each keep on looking he is right in front your face and your kids face every day that murderous person
Remember the accident with the premiere vehicle,Do you remember the persons name that was used as the person that had got shot but when it was all said and done it was a murderer from ST Thomas so why was that name used if there were no affiliation and if you follow the name of the person who was said to have been shot and check and see who is paying his lawyer fees and who is taking care of his family you have the mastermind behind most of the robberies and a few murders well in this country and a few of the recent drug busts coming from TNT to the BVI that’s all linked to that individual no more said

Based on your comment it appears that you want to give the impression that you know exactly who are responsible for the murders and robberies. My take is; you are either attempting to mislead the police in the wrong direction and you are in fact part of the problem or you are grappling at straws and babbling what you don’t know. If in fact it is neither of the above, since you claim you know who it is, you are just as guilty as the culprits as you are keeping your mouth shut. Personally, your story is contradictory as the person who is paying $100k lawyer fees as you stated, damn sure would nod need to rob Riteway for money from their afternoon sales.

It’s so easy to blame the people who came here to work but if you people only knew the ones who are sending these people to rob and to kill people around here and they are using these poor kids to do these heinous crimes here on the islands if the police were smart they would look into the person or persons who has multiple criminals on bail and check with the lawyers and see the ones who are paying lawyers to law for these criminals and you have the mastermind behind all these crimes and they are all locally born and raised

So….all you people especially the fools of “anonymous” and “son of the soil”, you guys are implying Spanish people are responsible and/or had to have been people that came to the territory after Irma. Ok….so are you guys trying to tell me that prior to Irma, Tortola was the purest territory with no robberies. Everything associated with murder, stealing, guns, drugs, etc are always passed on to foreigners. Why?

Sad that this is the NORM and the STANDARD of the BVI. Those who are turning a blinds Eye of the Heavy influx in CRIME should be removed and be accountable. Start from the top and the Police Department seems to have a very LAX Attitude – Only when it starts HURTING the Finances of the BVI they will continue turning their heads and closing their eyes – “Hear No Evil – See No Evil. They will only react when it begins to hit their DOLLARS and BURN their POCKETS. SAD to know that a BEAUTIFUL REGION is UNDER SEIGE in this MANNER. Once you find that they come from a different Caribbean Island, SEND THEM BACK to THEIR OWN ISLAND. Then stop ANYONE COMING FROM THAT ISLAND NOT TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RE-ENTER INTO THE BVI FOR ABOUT TWO TO FIVE YEARS. PUT STRICK PENTALITY WHO EVER THEY MIGHT BE. IF THE VIOLENCE CONTINUES THEY THE BVI HAVE TO SET STANDARDS FOR THOSE WHO ARE BELONGERS OR COME FROM FAMILIES OF BELONGERS. THEY TOO HAVE TO PAY A VERY STIFF PENTALITY IN HOW THEY ARE ALL DISTROYIONG THE BVI AND IT IS NOT FOR THE BETTER. THIS BEHAVIOR IS GIVING THE BVI A BAD NAME AND WILL WHOLE ALL BVI ISLANDERS FOR WHAT A SMALL AMOIUNT OF THE ISLAND. LET US WORK VERY HARD AND CHANGING THE NEGATIVE CLIMATE OF VIOLENCE IN THE BVI – SAY NO TO THE CRIME AND VIOLENCE. SAFE STREETS – SAFE LIVES – SAFE BVI.
