PLM promises Sea Cows Bay water within three months, if elected
People’s Leadership Movement leader Mark Vanterpool has pledged to supply Sea Cows Bay with water from a new local plant within three months if his party is elected to govern the BVI.
“A PLM government, three months after it’s elected, will get water into Sea Cows Bay through a plant, a new plant in Sea Cows Bay, and not depend on the plant in Paraquita Bay,” Vanterpool said on the Talking Points programme.
The former minister for communications and works made the pledge after a host asked why voters should expect his party to fix infrastructure problems that remained unresolved during his time in government.
Vanterpool acknowledged that water had been a challenge under the former National Democratic Party administration where he served, but said supplying the Sea Cows Bay area had been a persistent difficulty.
“We struggled, and all of the engineers and the idea that was put forward through the BiWater contract was that we would pump water up to the mountain, up to the hill, and distribute that throughout the territory,” Vanterpool said. Getting water across the mountain to Sea Cows Bay remained a “continuous challenge”, he added.
Vanterpool said his administration had considered installing booster pumps along the route. He now favours desalination plants serving individual districts and pointed to container-sized units as one option. “We need to get back to what I call district-area type of water desal plants,” he said.
The proposal comes amid continuing complaints about the water supply in the Third District. Residents continue to speak out about going without running water for weeks.
Asked about the cost of water purchased under the existing contract, Vanterpool said it would have to be renegotiated. He said he believes a PLM government could find a way to address what he described as a gap between annual water costs and collections.

Placing desalination plants in each district makes any bit of sense to you? Creating additional expenses on the public purse. Please come up with feasible, affordable solutions, as opposed to promises that you are using to lure voters to you. Stop using your money, and whomever else, to buy the BVI. Enough is enough.
it makes sense if it will work, f the cost we nee water to live
These people have been fooling us every election for the last 45 years selling us illusions, and the public keep voting for them falling right back into the same old trap.
If you lend a person $50, and they promise to pay it back before the weekend and they ask a month later for $100. Promising to pay $150 and never pay you. Then, have the nerves to ask again in four years for more, would you do it?
WE THE PEOPLE ARE SO GULLABLE! Why do you keep voting for people who keep loaning your trust every election, loaning your money and not giving you value for it.
ALL 13 and Remanence’s must go home. They are already set for life.
( by the way, I wonder if Mrs. P , Mr. George, Oneal, and Carvin still have money going to their accounts) that was the reason they justify the raise for all ministers…..
Anyway, back to the subject:
People, Get Serious and choose people who will replace the broken leaky pipes. This is not a production problem; The infostructure has been crippling us repeatedly for 50 years.
Just imagine, they used the same tactics when they introduce Bi Water. After 20 years, did anything change?
I am so fed up with the bull. Broken pipes, underground leaks, low pressure, lack of pumps, corrosion , outdated materials, on top of that micro plastics and fragments of metals and copper continue to go through the pipes when we do get water, this can end up in your digestive system.
We are in over our heads; it’s time we import someone who specializes in the subject and hire them for 8 months overhaul. I’m sick of hearing this garbage every election cycle.
My hope is we don’t pave the roads and must dig them up again for phone and water lines.
That is also part of the reasons the roads don’t remain in good condition. It’s all a skim
Now ayo goin see why they call Mark “action Man”. Watch how he goin do wa them man couldnt do over 8 years.
Water is pouring from a burst pipe SCB,
I wonder what is the problem why the people can’t get?
He is really desperate. I wonder what he’s after now?
Dah dude who luv wig is going to go into one of his temper tantrums as he wants tek ova the 3rd district from the other joker who thinks he owns it , but we know you will take his rass to school as easily as you did when he was acting like “idi amin” in the HOA . when he acted like he owned it . ( thank goodness we now have a young lady who’s doing an exelent job without all theatrics of the ” DRAMA QUEEN ” .
Forget 3 months. What we need right now is the full investigation into where the bank of Asia money went, who it went to, what they bought with it. We need to see the clear trail. Who was in the meetings. What directors signed off on what. What minister instruct who to blame as a fall guy. Bank of Asia audits now.
Action man isn’t ready for that conversation.
Here come the magical promises.
Same with the Horse Track. Sound like he trying shake up the 3rd
Says the man who was Communications and Works Minister for eight years.
Stupes just stupes
Doesnt sound realistic.
With that dead horse forbes
…
After Kye done do all the work repairing the Hannah reservoir and upgrading the pipes and distribution network, Mark want to slide in under him and play hero?! Lack of honesty and integrity.
Kye fixed what happened under his watch. Something that could have been avoided.
But the repair works on the reservior has been completed. They repairing a few pipes in the line and they will turn the water on . But sea cows was never 100 % out of water , we have water most of the time

since when ?, U sound just like master ” wiggie ” the self praising “popular” business man who want byo run the 3rd district , if that should happen it will share the same fate as WSD .after he fine with the 3rd district/ or like the horse race track that the other wannabe hero could not negotiate and settle a little dispute amongst the owners and the government peacefully and now he’s the same government’s “sheggedy” deputy ~,~ / according to csc – we frigged .
Need water to keep the laundry running full steam.
Mind you with the Pied Piper and his pipe dreams.
If it sounds too good to be true, watch sharp.
I got short changed from 2019 for four years with poor
representation. Once bitten, always shy. Never me again.
STUPIDNESS TO FOOL VOTERS.
The water is there.
We don’t need to make more water!!!!!!
The Government just needs to get what we already pay for to the people.
Fix the distribution.
Do not pay more friends and family to make more water.
TOTAL STUPIDNESS.
PLEASE PLEASE. Voters do not be fooled by this.
Ekites looking after elitesnis all this is and you still will have no water at home.
What happened when he was elected the last 7 times??? He couldn’t fix it then. How can he all of a sudden fix it now??? SMH
So 3 month after he is elected, when are the elections? Just that Sea Cows Bay residents know when they will ever get water.
