Police have launched a probe into what is believed to be the first shooting incident in the BVI since the start of the year.
Police said one person was injured in the January 3 shooting and has since been transported to hospital for treatment.

Upon arrival, officers of the RVIPF learned that one person was injured in this incident and was transported to Dr Orlando Smith hospital by private vehicle where he underwent treatment for his injuries,” the RVIPF said in a media release on Saturday, January 4.
The added: “Persons with information into this incident are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department through the RVIPF’s access number 311. Persons can also call the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 284-368-9339. All information will be held in the strictest confidence.”
