Still no sign of at large boat captain one month later

Officers of the Armed Response Unit in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF.)

Law enforcement officials are still searching for the boat captain who crashed his boat in the vicinity of Nanny Cay on Tortola a month ago.

“He has not been found. We are still on the lookout for the individual,” Information Officer for the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Diane Drayton told BVI News on Wednesday.

The assailant came to be in the territory after being involved in an on water boat chase with Customs and Border Patrol in the neighbouring US Virgin Islands.

The chase was as a result of the boat captain reportedly smuggling a number of Haitians into the US territory.

The man is suspected to have been injured since he was flung from his vessel when the boat made contact with land during the chase.

The assailant, who may be wearing dreadlocks escaped on foot. His vessel remains in police custody.
