UPDATE: One arrested after shooting that led to injured cop
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a shooting incident at UP’s Cineplex Saturday night, July 6.
In a press release issued on Sunday, July 7, the police did not disclose the name of the male suspect, who remains in custody as the investigation continues. He has not yet been charged.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., resulting in injuries to a woman, who has since been confirmed as a police officer. Her rank and identity have not been disclosed.
This shooting marks the second such incident reported in less than a week.
The RVIPF urges the public to come forward with any information related to the incident, assuring that all information will be kept confidential. The public can contact the police via the Crime Stoppers line at 800-8477 (TIPS) or, if overseas, at 1-284-800-8477. Additionally, the RVIPF Intelligence can be reached at 1-284-336-9339.
